Penstemon

Penstemons for fabulous trumpets of colour

The latest in Penstemons are the 'Taffy' series from Terranova. These Penstemons out-perform any Penstemon I've ever come across in the cottage garden, flowering for simply months, and months, and months! They are still in full flower in the winter garden and with over-sized trumpet flowers sporting the most glorious white or patterned throats. These are amazing plants. Penstemons are a hard easy care Cottage Garden perennial originating in the Northern American continent however hybridised extensively in Europe in the 1800's. These traditional favourites have returned to full popularity with the advent of new and impressive varieties in terms of performance and flower appeal. Plant Penstemons in groups of 3-5 plants for a romantic cottage effect! Dead heading of spent flower spikes will cause additional laterals to form. Penstemons prefer average well drained soil, do not mulch over crowns. Drought and humidity tolerant
