Plant Breeders have come up with a new evolution to the very popular Taffy Penstemons. The ‘Cha Cha’ series have been bred for compactness and extreme hardiness whilst retaining the long flowering period of the Taffy Penstemons and their incredible durability. This series brings a new colour range and denser more compact habit. Penstemon ‘Cha Cha Purple’ is a most enchanting mass of wine purple blooms produced over many months of repeat flowering flushes. This colour is wonderful as a contrast to other strong colours in the flower garden. The plant habit is very bushy and compact, with healthy foliage. Flowers are produced in profusion each spike producing numerous small trumpets. Plant mid border in clumps for a romantic cottage effect!
Dead heading of spent flower spikes will cause additional laterals to form. Prefer average well drained soil, do not mulch over crowns. Drought and humidity tolerant.
