Summerinas are a break through new plant range resulting from years of painstaking breeding to cross Echinacea purpurea with Rudbeckia hirta, a cross genus hybridisation producing three distinct and free flowering perennials in shades of vibrant gold to deep chocolate brown. The three initial varieties 'Sunflare', 'Sunshine' and 'Twilight' are robust plants held on upright stems, with masses of large blooms displaying the black central 'eye' typical of the Rudbeckia. Summerinas are easy care but to get the best out of them protect from snails and slugs in the early season, and ensure they are well watered through dry periods or if in pots and prone therefore to drying out
