Heucheras are incredible garden plants for their toughness, colour and texture, looking great ‘all year round’. Some varieties are bred specifically for foliage while others for their lovely ‘coral bell’ flowers. Heuchera ‘Glitter’ is a striking luminous silver heuchera with pronounced black veins, shimmering in the shade to provide a fantastic ‘lightening’ effect to dark garden areas. A very neat and tidy form with leaf undersides a startling violet. As if this wasn’t gorgeous enough, bright fuchsia pink delicate flowers appear on mass in spring.
Heucheras prefer part shade conditions in New Zealand, growing best when protected from afternoon sun. The darker the foliage generally the more sun tolerant so lighter Heucheras like ‘Glitter’ will need some shade. Avoid over-watering or water logged soils, ensure good drainage as with all Heucheras. Take care not to bury the crown of Heucheras when planting. Water and feed occasionally with slow release fertiliser
