Hosta Hudson Bay

Information

  • Height: 60cm
  • Width: 60cm
  • Available: Nation Wide

Hosta ‘Hudson Bay’ is a delightful sport of ‘Eskimo Pie’, selected for its large, leathery leaves which are the most delightful combination of deep blue green with applegreen flecking emanating from the creamy white central leaf area. An extremely striking Hosta. Leaves are complemented by near-white flower spikes appearing in early summer. Hosta ‘Hudson Bay’ will form large dense clumps of attractively variegated foliage once established. As with all Hostas these like a shaded position and form a nice foliage variant with Heucheras and Hellebores for a shade garden filled with texture and interest. Protect from snails and slugs, though Hosta ‘Hudson Bay’ does seem to be another more slug and snail resistant Hosta than some varieties.

Hostas are well known shade plants, preferring moist conditions, sandy loam soils and benefitting
from the occasional feed with slow release fertiliser. Protect new shoots from slugs and snails especially in spring.
