Dianthus 'Sugar Plum'is a long-flowering double dianthus bred by Whetman Pinks of the United Kingdom. Masses of soft pink rosette flowers with darkest magenta centres appear in abundance in Spring, continuing to flower over an extended season through Summer. Foliage is a compact mound of blue with plum accents which gives a neat and attractive appearance even when not fully in flower.

These dianthus are all highly fragrant, the 'Magnifi-Scent' range includes six new releases. Dianthus are relatively drought tolerant, hardy, and can be used for cutting flowers as these blooms have a long vase life.

Removal of spent flowers will stimulate new flower production as well as keeping the plant neat and attractive. Because these Dianthus are so free flowering rewarding them with a good application of slow release fertiliser in early spring will pay huge dividends in plant flowering performance
