Plectranthus ‘Velvet Elvis’ is a large shrubby perennial with more bling than most!. Quick to establish, ‘Velvet Elvis’ is a striking combination of masses of Lavender and Violet inflorescences on very attractive deep forest green foliage with stems and undersides of the leaves a dark purple black. This is a rock star perennial that will stand out in a crowd.
Plectranthus ‘Velvet Elvis’ has a spreading habit, is more compact than P ‘Mona Lavender’ and has darker green leaves. It will be deciduous in colder areas of New Zealand, and generally flowers for a prolonged period from summer through autumn.
Preferring some shade, ‘Velvet Elvis’ enjoys average to well drained soils. Water regularly until established. Suitable for mass planting, back of border filler or in a container as a striking specimen plant.
