Belarina® ‘Cobalt Blue’ is a delightful double darkest blue Primula which is absolutely smothered in exquisite flowers from early spring. Compact and free flowering, Belarina® ‘Cobalt Blue’ will continue to flower intermittently through the year in our New Zealand climate although the warmer conditions tend to make the flowers mauve rather than blue outside the cooler months.
Belarina® Primulas prefer full to partial shade, and as expected with a woodland plant, they like moderate moisture year-round, and will enjoy a light mulch or leaf litter to keep their root zone a little moist. Don’t over-do fertilisers as primulas can be salt sensitive, particularly important if you are growing them in containers. Divide plants every two years to maintain good plant performance and provide extra plants to fill your garden borders.
