Cool colours, tough plants! This was the aim of the breeders at InnovaBred Australia, and after years of careful selection we have the ‘So Cool’ series of salvias in gorgeous cool palette colours.
Salvia ‘So Cool’ Pale Blue is an appealing icy blue salvia which matures to lilac, a most unusual colour and a wonderful ‘lightener’ in the garden border complementing many other colours. The habit of the ‘So Cool’ salvias is compact and dense, forming a clump 70cm tall by 1m wide. Flowers appear in Spring then spot flower throughout the warmer summer and autumn months.
‘So Cool’ salvias are easy to grow in most soil types provided these are free draining. Quite dry tolerant once established requiring only occasional long soaks during extended periods of heat. Prune after main flowering to encourage faster re-bloom and a compact habit. Apply a slow release fertiliser in spring to improve overall vigour
