A new and intense darkest mauve Scabiosa for a sun loving easy care perennial. Large, striking pincushion flowers flecked with white are held on sturdy upright stems combined with a bushy, robust habit. Very free flowering blooming continuously from late spring to frost. This is a striking new perennial and a personal favourite, highly recommended. Scabiosa ‘Crimson Clouds’ flowers profusely in summer, and responds to a trim once flowering has lessened. Vigorous grower prefers full sun and plenty of moisture in the drier months. Attractive to butterflies. Will benefit from a good feed of slow release fertilizer in Spring. It is a big feeder and needs a decent sized container and plenty of water if you are going to plant it in a pot! Remove spent flower heads to prolong flowering.
