Belarina® ‘Buttercup’ is a delightful double yellow Primula which is absolutely smothered in exquisite flowers from early spring. Flowers are slightly fragrant and held on a leafy collar similar to ‘Nectarine’. Compact and free flowering, Belarina® ‘Buttercup’ will continue to flower intermittently through the year in our New Zealand climate.
Belarina® Primulas prefer full to partial shade, and as expected with a woodland plant, they like moderate moisture year-round, and will enjoy a light mulch or leaf litter to keep their root zone a little moist. Don’t over-do fertilisers as primulas can be salt sensitive, particularly important if you are growing them in containers. Divide plants every two years to maintain good plant performance and provide extra plants to fill your garden borders.
