Gazanias are sun lovers, originating in the South African continent. They are characterised by intensely coloured flowers appearing in late spring to early summer. These perennials are tolerant of both dry conditions and poor soils, and are suitable for coastal gardens.
Foliage is generally lance like and silver grey in colour, forming a clump. Gazanias can be grown in containers but do benefit from regular watering in extremely dry conditions.
